This fest’s for the dogs

Friends, canines, country pups: Lend me your floppy ears!

Eh? would like to take an opportunity to talk directly to the dogs of Duluth. So, owners, kindly take a moment to pass this column in front of your pup’s eyes before placing it in the dreaded crate.

OK, dogs, listen up. There’s something on the agenda for you today. It’s called Fido’s Fall Festival. It’s where a bunch of humans gather just for you. And this is the first chance your human will have to get a new 2014 dog license. It’s different this year, because all the money collected from dog licenses, over the administration costs, is going to be given to the Duluth Animal Shelter. But that’s just one part of the day. Here’s a rundown of what’s happening:
* PetCare will have rabies vaccinations for $25.
* Northland Spay/Neuter will do microchipping for $20.
* Ram Reizel will have a dog training demonstration.
* City of Duluth will sell 2014 dog licenses, which include a collar tag.

The event will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at Fitger’s Brewery Complex lower level near “A Place for Fido,” 600 E. Superior St.
