The Lake Superior Marine Museum is kicking off its 26th Gales of November Maritime Conference and Fundraiser beginning Nov. 1 with a joint luncheon with the Duluth-Superior Propeller Club at Grandma’s Sports Garden in Canal park. The keynote speaker for the luncheon will be Lee Radzack, historic site manager at Split Rock lighthouse.
Also slated for Friday are tours of the Lake Superior Maritime Collections at the University of Wisconsin-Superior, Superior Public Museum’s Fairlawn Mansion and the Great Lakes Aquarium.
Saturday’s festivities commence at 8:30 a.m. at the DECC-Lake Superior Ballroom. The day will be filled with maritime-related educational presentations, a trade show and a silent auction. Saturday’s keynote luncheon presentation features Steve Elliot, Minnesota Historical Society executive director.
Money raised supports the Lake Superior Maritime Visitors Center in its mission to preserve Lake Superior maritime heritage.
