If the forecasts were right, today would be a beautiful day to walk or bike to school — and it happens to be the day when schools around the world are participating in International Walk to School Day.
Eh? counted 10 participating schools in the Northland (among more than 4,000 worldwide), including Lincoln Park Middle School and Congdon Park Elementary School in Duluth. Participating schools have special events, but that doesn’t exclude families with children at other schools from getting involved.
The event is a chance for families with kids who typically ride a school bus (or the parent shuttle), and who live in areas with bike-friendly paths to school to walk and/or bike to school, says a news release from the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
