Superior residents have a chance this fall to get a look at the work of their Police Department. Registration is open for the Superior Police Department’s 12th annual Citizens’ Police Academy.
At the academy, police officers, evidence technicians, supervisors and detectives become teachers.
The program begins Sept. 18 and runs for eight weeks. Sessions are every Wednesday from 6-10 p.m., with one class on a Saturday morning. The class is free but limited to 25 participants. Candidates must live or work in Superior, be at least 21 years old and pass a criminal-background check.
Applications are due by Sept. 6. Pick one up at the Police Department reception desk, find it at ci.superior.wi.us/police, or call (715) 395-7450 to get one by mail.
