The Lincoln Park Farmers Market will mark its grand opening today with a community celebration, the Healthy Duluth Area Coalition tells us.
The “Fair Food Access Neighborhood Celebration Picnic” will be from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Harrison Park, 3002 W. Third St. In case of rain, the event will be inside the Harrison Community Center.
Live music, family-friendly activities and a demonstration on cooking with local produce will be offered along with the picnic, which is free. It will be preceded by a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 3 p.m. with the Duluth Chamber of Commerce.
The farmers market will take place from 3-6 p.m. every Thursday through mid-October at Harrison Park. In addition, the Northern Expressions Arts Collective will offer programming for families with children ages 4 and older from 5-8 p.m. each Thursday.
