Make some cartoons

Bam! Pow! Whiz! The Duluth Public Library is hosting a free cartooning workshop from 1-3 p.m. Thursday in the Green Room for kids going into grades six through 12.

The session, part of the Minnesota Historical Society’s Minnesota Comic Workshop, will include examples of work by Minnesota cartoonists. Professional Todd Balthazor, a Walker Art Museum guard who has created a comic strip about being a museum guard, will teach techniques. Balthazor has been featured in the New York Times and is an illustrator, muralist and children’s art instructor.
