One more way to pay down those Christmas bills, girls: Sell your old prom dress.
Arthur’s Formal Wear and Lundeen Productions are planning a Prom Shopping consignment sale for the weekends of Jan. 26-27 and Feb. 2-3 in the Piedmont Plaza Shopping Center. They say the event is an opportunity for past prom goers to make money off dresses hanging in the closet and for future prom goers to find their dream dress at a bargain.
“With the cost of prom becoming increasingly expensive, this is an opportunity for girls to get a gorgeous dress at a fraction of the new retail price” said Paula Saxin, owner of Arthur’s Formal Wear of Duluth, the region’s leading provider of men’s formal wear.
Drop off dresses at Arthur’s in Piedmont Plaza. Dresses and accessories must be clean and in good condition, and if consignors are not 18, they should bring a parent or legal guardian to sign the sale consent form.
A portion of the proceeds from each of each dress sold will be donated to local youth organizations.
