Now that the furnace has kicked in, surely there’s no need to worry about mosquitoes outside.
Well, that may be true in Minnesota, but mosquitoes continue to be a life-threatening risk elsewhere in the world.
A group from Duluth’s Hope United Methodist Church is selling handmade mosquito-repellent candles to raise money for its Imagine No Malaria campaign. The money will go toward the purchase of mosquito nets to help keep people in impoverished areas free from malaria.
The church’s Holiday Craft Fair, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at 301 W. St. Marie St. in Duluth, will have the candles on hand. Call (218) 724-2266 for more information.
