Cold-weather rule is in effect

Minnesota’s “cold-weather rule” is in effect from Oct. 15 to April 15, but that doesn’t mean a utility can’t shut off your heat. It means they can’t shut off your heat if you contact them to set up a payment plan.

So, if you get a disconnection notice, don’t ignore it unless you plan to head south for the winter.
